I'm confused. Did Nico record the piece twice, once with Guido's and once with your Profiles, Bert?
Fascinating!

No he didn't. He re-amped....so he had to shoot the video only one time, used line output and re-amped all tracks including the basspart
Ahh... thank you, Bert.
Yeah figured it was a reamp job. But that's quite interesting as it's exactly the same audio file i.e. Same dynamics in the playing etc. So cool to hear differences in the way profiles respond.

Indeed! Bert's have more midrange weight, I feel. Guido's feel slightly anaemic to me here.

@Netheravon about the same audio files, same dynamics and same responding, I gave that a thought....basically you're right but I think not 100%..
If I play a part in a track, let's say a solo part, I anticipate very much on the sound that I'm hearing at that time... That is of great influence on what I'm playing..So for instance the gain level makes me decide to let a tone ring a bit longer or not... less distortion would perhaps lead to playing more notes..
Or if I use a clean sound and hit the strings a little harder to get a little bit of dirt on the sound, that's also depending on the sound that you're using at the moment of playing....
What I'm saying is that the re-amped tracks are not played with that particular sound which has been used for re-amping..
In my case that would make a hell of a difference...
I think the only way to make a 100 % comparisson is to record the tracks and play them with a direct line sound so play it without the influence of any profile..But that won't work either because it sounds like shit haha
But I totally agree that it is interesting to hear the differences in the way profiles respond...
Well, I've always found Guido's to be weighty and more balls-to-the-wall than most, and that's evidenced here. Guts and balls for miles, and usually with sufficient bite / edge to complement the low-end action.
Yours have always been about as mix-ready as anything out there, on the other hand, Bert. Actually, probably the most mix-ready IMHO. Tastefully-curtailed highs and lows, and plenty of mid-range warmth, but without mud. Perfect for mixing as-is.
So, @sambrox: Does this explain what you heard?

Yes!!! Sound is inspiration! I am a bad player but sometimes i am suprised what comes out of cabs when i play with a rig which is very familar to me.
Have done some short tracks with some of Berts profiles and for the sound is very cool. Placed it on my soundcloud account ( link below my signature if someone has the nerv to hear it)
Cheers
Frank
Yes good point regarding sound influencing style @breu which of course is true. At times I'll put on a different profile or swap guitars or roll the tone right off etc just to create a sound difference SO I play differently.
But as a vehicle to see how your profiles respond to the same dynamics, guitar, tone, volume etc etc as another profile by a different seller, it's a valid observation I think

Yes, sound is definitely inspiration. And sound influences your dynamics, phrasing and so on and so on...
And because of the sound we use Kempers with good profiles !!
I think my profiles ain't bad..I think Guido's profiles ain't bad either... Our approach of profiling and tweaking might be a little different, nothing wrong with that !! One might like mine, one might like the other. That's good
And Frank, I have the nerv to listen to your soundcloud

Most likely, Nicky. I feel that Guido's profiles sound best though when I play them on my MM Luke, the same guitar and pickups as he profiles with (apart from Guido's XTC, which just sounds amazing with whatever I throw at it!). Bert's to me work just as well with whatever guitar I play through them with. It probably is a case of Bert's being slightly more mix-ready, Guido's being ever so slightly more full-range.
Hi Bert, can you tell me which of the jtm 45 plexi profile nico uses in his delay vid? I see he has the booster on and in stomp mod the is also a booster but he didnt use this one. In your rigs the is a loop in stom mod.
Is it the plexi A2 clean?
Cheers
Frank
@Eltzejupp Hi Frank, I'm sorry that it took a while to answer you.
I don't know exactly which one he used..Must have been definitely one of the clean ones...It has the same stomp configuration as all clean JTM's in pack #2. The only thing he has changed is the loop function on stomp 6 into boost function which is understandable. I use the loop for my strymon big sky, that's why it's programmed by default. Of course if you don't use outboard gear you don't need the loop function.
I love this profiles.
Made a sample with a blade r4 i just got me with the soldano amp in pack 1

Hi Bert,
This one is for you. Thanks for the killer profiles you create. I used the Bogner on this one.
NB: I have already posted this on another thread, thanks for all the great comments. Just wanted to post it here as its related to Bert's Profile Packs. If the MODs need to delete one for double posting please delete the other one.
Cheers
