Welcome and good luck with your choice. You can't go wrong with either if you can't have both

I really think I need a modern, digital device in the cave...

Wow!
Nice setup. Hope you post that in the kemper rigs section, even a b4 and after
And gratuitous guitars shots are always a good thing there too.
Something tells me I might be able to guess what your favorite colour is... and that is a bright and optimistic cave.
I agree tho, you really need a more modern digital device--it is essential--all about balance.
There is only one right thing to do... just can't be helped...

For live use and band-practise is where I really prefer the toaster. The extra LEDs are very handy in dark spaces. I've got my toaster mounted in a shock-proof (airline-safe) shallow 6U FX-rack together with a 1U L6 G90 wireless receiver. Power-distribution and input is pre-wired in the rack and rubber-straps hold the remote and expression pedals inside the back-lid for transport. It's a bit heavy with everything but still a compact unit that is quick to set up. Just put it on a small mixer stand (or on top of something else in the backline), plug in power, monitor and foot-controller (+main outs to FOH) and it's ready to receive the wireless signal.

Nice cave @Bensnake! Wait till the new kid on the block gets there, the others will get a little dusty.
Thanks, man! That's what I'm afraid of though I don't think it'll happen. Nothing's like turning big knobs on a real tube beast... I'm really looking forward to make som cool profiles myself. I don't think there are any made of the Orange Custom Shop 50 and/or the OR100. -
Would love to see some more quality Orange profiles!
That's one of the (numerous) big gaps I'm seeing in terms of profile availability.

I pondered the rack vs. toaster question quite a bit, but ended up with the toaster for several reasons. First, having used rack preamps a lot in the past and having to put them in cramped spaces, I did not like the depth of most rack gear, especially when in a rack case. It was just too clumsy. The toaster is more like an amp head, tall and wide without much depth and it works better in some cramped situations.
Another reason is if you calculate internal volume, the toaster takes up less space than the rack. IIRC it weighs less as well. It's very easy to carry around in the Kemper bag, not bulky or clumsy at all.
I've been using a toaster for almost a year now and have not regretted it for a second.

Yeah, I've only seen Orange profiles on the Rockerverb and the AD30. There're more to come I hope... -
Toaster works for me as I play in a couple of different bands and have monitoring speakers left in each of the vans. Toaster with Ambrosi power amp ATM-70 insert is really portable and I can bring it home every night to load up rigs, change settings etc...

Glorious-looking ManCave™, Snake!

I thought I would never sell them, after profiling them now I do miss them but yes they are gone.
I've kept my Deluxe Reverb, you have to hang onto at least one good tube amp, just because.

I intend to keep 'em all -
I recommend the Kemper bag too. I've had mine for 3 years, using it daily.
It's even stretched over time allowing you to put more stuff in it (I can travel with the floor unit inside) plus a whole host of cables, headphones, expression pedal. They may hang out of the pouches a bit but they all carry!
The rack would be much more difficult to carry unless you bought one of those traveling cases (like for carry-on airplanes)
You'll love the Toaster. I missed it if you said, what color did you choose? Light or Dark?

Nice!
Bensnake - you won´t regret getting the Kemper. My Rocker 30 has been indeed collecting dust for a few months...

I wanna know what sort of car Snake's gonna buy after he profiles all his amps and sells 'em. LOL
-
Does anyone want to trade their kemper rack for a lunchbox?

I don't want another car...

Hehe, I had exactly the same black Z4.
Changed it to a newer one with hardtop last year.
