Sounds way worse with head phones. Did reinitialize output settings. Everything just got a few dB louder. Am going to try some flat response speakers, hopefully that'll do the trick.
I have a feeling that'll work.

Tried kpa thru a jbl passive moniter with a 15 " speaker. Cab Sims on. Definitely sounds in the ballpark of the amp that was profiled, but there's still a cold stiffness to the overdrive sounds that I've always associated with digital processors . A lack of some dynamics. I do not hear this when listening to youtube demos. Clean profiles , or backing gain off of dirty ones sounds great. Frustrated...

Where is "Pure Cabinet" set (if at all)?
not sure what "pure cabinet" is or how to set it ?

It's in the output section, so hit the "Output" button and page through until you find it.

tried it from 0-10. Didn't notice much difference. Might sound a little better turned up towards 10.

You should be able to hear the difference. Maybe you somehow have the cab block bypassed?
I do not a big difference through the jbl wi g h the cab Sims turned off vs on. Other than that I don't know how to tell if the cabin block is bypassed. How should the pure cabinet dial affect the tone? 0=?, 10=?.

Ragnarok...exactly what model JBL "monitor" are you currently playing through. Is it Full Range (does it have a separate woofer and HF tweeter)? If you are playing through a true FRFR monitor, then you should definitely hear a HUGE difference if you toggle the Cabinet module on and off. Typically, when using a FRFR monitor, and if you disable the Cabinet Module (no Cab sims)...you will get a sound that is not unlike a can full of very agitated and angry bees.
What I have learned so far is find a profile with someone demoing it with the same pickups as you. From there adjust your pickup height and you'll be amazed. No one really mentioned this and it makes a HUGE difference. I'm going through the same journey as you and am documenting it. Maybe it will help you?

I mentioned pickup height (and picking technique) in the other thread.... just sayin'...

Yup, pickup height is a major factor and is not often brought up in trouble shooting.
Display Morea 4x12 cab is not perhaps the best thing at home volume, 4x12's are designed to be really pushed before the sound becomes pure. - 4x12's also cover a lot of resonance that can interrupt the original tone, and also some cabs ,are just frighteningly bad sound wise.
The end of the day, your guitar tone will always only be as good as your speaker outputs. this is where it matters, so its finding the right combination to express the correct sound, and I would start here. getting the right speakers. perhaps try FRFR speakers and see where you go from there.
Record a few phrases into your computer and see if you like the sound, audition with headphones etc. - process of elimination.
And do people still use 4x12's these days ? : )
4x12 looks great for deco!

it does sound like ass through jbl with the cab Sims off. unbearable... Much better switched on.
Is anyone aware of different ways to thicken up the gain sounds? I'm stuck there, in line6 territory, my 78 jmp laughing at me from across the room. The higher I roll the gain (5 and up) the less realistic it sounds. Not looking specifically for high gain sounds, just want a few available if need be.

To thicken high gain try boosting the mids a bit. Anywhere between 300Hz - 650Hz. That's the meat.
Have compared my set up with YouTube videos of exact same profile, set the same way afaik, using same guitar, and mine always sounds fizzier.

Fizz is up around 5.5kHz - 6kHz. Notch it out.
