It may be obvious but why are there 2 LEDs above the DLY soft button and one LED above the other buttons?
Delay soft button

I believe its because the delay and rev slots have special properties that none of the others have x the ability to control parallel/series routing and spillover come to mind.

Thanks Wheresthedug . Well the DLY is the only one with 2 LEDs. Could it mean stereo capability?
-
Everything after the stack has stereo capabilities.
-
X, Mod, Delay and Reverb slots are all stereo capable.
-
So why 2 LEDs over only the DLY? There has to be a simple reason/function for that.
-
Before Kemper released the new delay types and also allowed to put a delay in every stomp or effects module, the DELAY module was the only one that could have a delay effect.
Back then, the TAP button indicated the rig tempo and the 2 LEDs indicated the delay pattern (for either single or dual delay). So basically the LEDS were blinking e.g. one of them dotted eights and the other one quarter notes (or whatever you had set the delay to do).
This functionality has been removed and now these LEDs only show the effects category color.

Thank you lightbox !

I always thought one led was the left delay and the other for the right delay

That sounds like a good possibility.

I’m pretty sure that’s not the reason. If it was then a single delay with no stereo spread would only light up one of the lights.
-
No, it’s right, one was the left delay, the other the right. They blinked in time with the stereo repeats. I kind of miss that...

Thanks Sam. So that’s basically what lightbox was saying then i.e. its a legacy thing that no loner has any relevance?
-
Ah haa!! So it was from a past function. Okay. Thank you, all.

Is it no longer relevant?
-
Unfortunately yes, it’s no longer relevant. The lights are now either on or off to reflect the status of the FX slot, and no longer blink in time with the repeats, if you have a delay loaded.
-
Thanks. My point was that if you have a delay loaded it would be relevant still. (imho)

The fact that there is an LED remains relevant but not the 2 LEDs. Even if you turn to a non delay effect like OD or Phaser, the colour changes but both lights still come on so there is no relevance to the Delay itself.
