The Kemper Foot Controller: Evolution

Until it's released we only have speculation to amuse ourselves.

My Guess:
All of the memory and functionality are ALREADY built into the KPA. The foot controller will simply act as a remote controller for the Looper. I see this as a good thing, as updates should not have to be performed to the foot controller to add/change features. (Although, I'd bet that CK has built in a way to remotely "flash" the controller's OS to solve pesky bugs.)

Some of the replies in this thread give me the feeling that prototypes have gone out to beta testers! Or maybe I'm just reading into what I'd like to think.

I'd LOVE to beta test the thing, haha! Sign me up!

I thought about the idea of the looper being off-Kemper, but there's a good reason why I don't think it will be so anymore.
Reason: Engineer Kemper has explicitly stated early on in the Kemper's development that the device will have a looper. As such, I think he wouldn't have misled people who might not want to buy another product to get this feature.
The limitation in the number of profiles on the Kemper is another hint. Remember, profiles don't take up so much memory and at about 5 kb per pop for a total of about 5 Mb, I'm guessing there must be another couple of hundred MB of space left on the Kemper memory, given that they don't really make them that small anymore.
Of course, the looper on the Kemper could be another beast altogether. Look at something like a Boomerang, with the ability to create multiple loops simultaneously, cue them sequentially, etc. There's only a single button on the proposed foot controller that says "Loop". My guess is that it will call up loop mode on the entire foot controller, which would make it more than a one-trick pony, given the number of buttons. Might even have more external memory for longer loops, multiple loops, etc., which may not be the case if you just own a Kemper.
Engineer CK is one sharp cookie.

Hmmm some nice theories there....

Bill brasky is a so. Of a bitch! Ya know, he jumped off the Empire State Building this one time and he only sprained his ankle.

I can't see this as a practical solution for live performances, as it's hard enough to hit a looper button to start/stop at proper sync points. These things have to happen instantly. I'm betting that the looper capability is a simpler one, such as implemented in the Ditto. -
No matter what kind of Looper ends up being, can someone who uses one of them all the time check it out as soon as it is available, and write a wiki, to explain what it can and can't do?
It would be great to have a resource like that for all the questions that will come

I nominate you for that task -
I'm not a Looper user - many are, though.

I think it's time for you to start then! -
I think it's time for you to start then! That's what I thought for a very long time as well. No sometimes I like to mess around with my TC Flashback X4 using the Looper mode...

LOL! I think that Jay would find you under any table anyways!

Nah, as long as it's non CLR speculation.

... Exactly... Unless he's so paranoid to spider the Web for his own name

Yeah, but Ingolf just introduced the two words in his last post...

This is all starting to sound like lyrics from an old Police song
