    Thanks spottydog10 , you’ve mentioned Lindesfarne before. I should check them out. For me this was about medieval patterns which were very popular in 70’s prog and folk rock.

    The Hunt is an exception piece of work. Even if it took you 3 months to achieve it would still be exceptional. But one day? I know some songs can write themselves but I don't expect to ever get to this level.

Nah, this was only a couple of hours work, it’s just about flowing a few bars of one idea and pattern with a few bars of another, a little segue between, nothing complex, almost anyone else on here could write me under the table. You’d get there easily enough if you optimized your workflow and churned out a track a day, but to get there you have to be wiling to fail and so not focus on quality, just quantity. Try it. Give yourself an hour or half an hour per day as a routine, churn out a track and post it. Allow yourself to create something bad, because that’s the only way you’ll create something good.
