If you want to use the UnO4Kemper then 2 of those. Otherwise only 1.
Do I need a cable with all 5-pins connected? Or is 3-pins connected enough?

I hadn't realised there were 3,5 and 7 pin options. I'd better check what I've got.

Forgot to mention it, but yes I'll upgrade it with the uno chip.
Thanks for the link!
Just another question that crossed my mind, it'll take a few days till I order the chip. Is there somewhere a good tutorial or guide how to program the fcb with the KPA?!

Just read shortly through the manual.

Midi Out: 3 Pins
Midi In: 2 Pins
I should've stated that I want to know how to pgoram the fcb without the uno chip to work with the kpa. as far as I understand with the uno chip it's not a big deal.
ll you need is regular MIDI cables , unless you are planning on doing a power supply mod and power the FCB1010 through the cable.

Ok I see. Programming a stock KPA is a very tedious PITA procedure. Of you really want to do it you may want to d/l the FCB manual directly from Behringer.

Can this be done? I have avoided the FCB due to the A/C cord that plugs into the back. If it can be powered via midi I'll change my mind.

I had one that worked, with a Line6 POD.. then sold everything some years ago.
I wonder (and just wrote in another forum thread) if the KPA could provide power supply to a modified FCB 1010 (via a full MIDI cable, with all the 5 pins connected)....

Power via MIDI requires a 7 pin connection. The KPA does not deliver power over MIDI.
Will, You only need 5 pin cable, MIDI only takes 3 wires. There are mods on the Yahoo FCB1010/uno Forum. Paul

That would take care of things on the FCB side of the chain, but how would you get power from the Kemper to supply to the FCB?
Like I said someone here took a tap from inside the KPA to a powersupply mounted in the back. Not recomended if still under warranty. I'll try and find the thread here. you coulld probly make a short Y power cable to power a power adapter.

Hi Will,
I understand that...I currently power my GCP that way. My question was: can the FCB operate with midi power?
