And by the way, the old radio is really a Blackheart 5 watt amp head. The dial still lights up when you turn it on.
brilliant!
since I also have a Little Giant here, did you add the Bitmo Triple Bypass mod? It's pretty neat.

for dual mic phase issues, are most people manually adjusting the relative mic distances to fix this, or are you just routing to a DAW then adding delay to 1 of the mics until you sync them? I have used Voxengo Sound Delay to phase align different audio sources before, and it seemed much quicker and more precise than trying to adjust mics.
I think I read this in one of Bobby Owsinski's books, I thought it's good advice:
In a dual mic setup, switch one mic out-of-phase and try to create the thinnest, least-amount-of-bass tone possible - then switch the phase back to normal.
The "green scream" sounds nothing like an actual TS in front of an amp to my ears.
the Green Scream sounds so close the the Maxon OD808 I have here, that you can find more changes in sound and behaviour between a bunch of TS9s for exsample.
Tubescreamers all share their characteristic mids, but other than that, they can vary quite a bit (component tolerances or even different components)
The Green Screamer is now based on the OD808 and it can come very close but doesn't quite tighten up the low end as the real deal does.
interestingly enough, the Green Scream tightens the low end a bit more than my OD808 does.
qed
great!
this is a nice addition, thanks!
any chance to get a pic of the amp?
hi.
while it is of course absolutely up to you to write whatever you want in your blog, I'm afraid that your choice of words might be a little unfortunate and could propel a few misconceptions about the Profiler/profiling process:
"The more bleed, the less accurate what you're hearing is going to be."
not quite right, since the accuracy of the profiling process isn't the issue - it's just that the user is monitoring the wrong (amp in the room) signal, when he should be listening to what the mic hears.
"And that's why I think most people who profile with the Kemper aren't happy with the results."
actually, the vast majority of users is very happy with the results - interestingly enough, this is especially true for professionals (with access to a control and recording room and micing experience).
just my 2 cents
Groove Tubes Soul-O 150. Or Soul-O 75.
check out the factory content rigs 'GT 75 Crunch1 6L6' etc
i know that the player's fingers and guitar will change the sound to some degree.
make that: "to a huge degree" - one of the best features of the Profiler is for me it's sensitivity towards the input signal: different pickup selections/pickups/guitars...
It's the way it should be - like a good tube amp.
of course we are, I'm still trying to reproduce this.
could you guys that are experiencing this pm me, so you can mail me the rigs that behave that way?
thanks.
I wonder why for several weeks, no updates are made. What's wrong with Kemper?
honestly, I think we have one of the best update policies:
- always free of charge
- updates don't change the sound of existing rigs
- implementation of new effects, including new twists on older paradigms like pitch shifting (formant shift) and seldomly seen/heard effects like frequency shifter, waveshapers and one-way phasers/flangers
- implementation of user requested features, that were discussed here in the forum with CK himself
- frequent release of pro Rig Packs (also free of charge)
did we spoil you?
It still new standard effects have been announced or I'm wrong?
sorry, does not compute. could you please re-phrase?
I think there is already a r.u.sirius profile on the exchange of the Modular you can use for distortion. (Search Micro Modular)
add to that a speaker sim cab like a Red Box or Palmer PDI03 and you should get somewhere!
just remebered - I created a similar sound a while back using a Nord Modular synth.
also, Trent Raznor is a well known Nord Modular user.
If I dig up the patch, Maybe we can get r.u.sirius to profile it.
I've got a profile on my KPA, I think it's one of the factory ones, called Smashing Fuzz. It doesn't say what hardware was profiled, but it sounds reasonably close to the video to my ears. I'm fiddling around with distortion stomps and different cabs right now, sounds decent.
Edit: Another suggestion - try finding a similar tone and turning the amp's Definition all the way to zero, maybe the Clarity and Pick knobs too.
IIRC that's one of Bill Ruppert's fuzz pedals - most likely a Big Muff.
fuzz + amp won't do.
the dynamics of the sound are much more limited, if it's fuzz, it's without the amp component - more sterile sounding.
judging by how the intervals sound, I tend to think it's more distortion than fuzz.
the Muff Dst might be a good starting point, since Muffs always have that fuzz+distortion quality.
my first guess would be:
not tube, but an overdriven solid state amp/component.
try disabling the 'Amplifier' slot, and use a stomp (maybe a more traditional one with one of the waveshapers) together with a cab (reduce the character parameter to get that speaker sim sound) - and add EQ as needed.
copy and paste buttons, of course!
are you aware that you can use the copy and paste knobs to... errr... copy and paste tag info?
the copy buffer stores up to ten entries, pressing the paste knob repeatedly cycles through them.
If i unplug no Noise, tried different cables
Maybe it's the global Output eq, cause the presence is At +5
that's quite an extreme setting.
if 0 were neutral on the TB's tone control, the negative range would have to be a TrebleCutter.
quite useless IMO.
with the Green Scream it's a 'bug' if you will, not intentional.
as always, it's all in the ears. numbers mean nothing to your listener, trust your ears.
Yes! done. I didn't know how to do that, but wasn't too difficult, and good to know moving forwards.
nicely done!
