This is my first post on the Forum. Not got Kemper yet and hoping to get a Powerhead in the next month or so as I've just started looking into it. I want to mainly run it live with my current 4x12 as not sure I can switch to an FRFR...but we'll see...

Welcome! You can use a 4x12 cabinet, no problem. The only advantage to FRFR is a wider range of sound options. If all the sounds you want to use will sound great with a 4-12, any additional sound options would not be needed.

The kemper power head/rack rocks using a 412 with the right speakers.
You can feel it.
I use the built in studio eq so I can turn the volume up keeping the low end perfect and clear and tame the highs. I have played it through some frfr speakers not the atomic CLR. But I prefer the 412 for the feel and low end thump and it gives me the amp in the room sound.
Best purchase I have ever made! You will be happy with a kemper!!

Only just really started digging into the Kemper as a possible repalcement for my Amps. I had ( I say had becuase I think I am hearing enough to make the leap) reserveations on whether you will get the same "amp in a room" feeling which is lacking with modellers - hence I've always gone tube. I take the point about going through PA's but I've had enough experiences with poor monitoring ( a la last Friday) that I'd like to maintain a good backline sound.
So chuffed that a few of you say it works well ( especially you Lash) so I'm 99% sure I will do, just need to sort out funds etc as I'd like to profile my current Amp before selling it ...it's an ENGL Invader...
I will need some advise on good basic sounds...
Oh and I think I've persuaded my mate as well to get one as well...

As for good tones if you have a mac or windows 7 or higher pc rig manager has over 5000 rigs you can audition in real time and if you like one you can store it to the kemper with the push of a button. Its so easy to get good tones its almost unfair lol

Seriously that is amazing! Why has it taken me so long to hear about this?? Just hope it delivers ( and I'm not that picky...)...

Anyway, I have a house to buy first so hopefully in the next few weeks I should be in a position to get one. I have not been so excited about a piece of gear in such a long time...
It's going to be difficult to part with my ENGL which I have loved but I hope this will be supriro in terms of flexibility of sound, plus I'll profile it as best I can before it goes..
