I like the idea, but:
You would need to take a router to gigs, and would you also need a computer there to configure the secure wireless connection?
It seems to me there are many more cables and "stuff" needed to use these than other wireless systems.
And, ALL wireless systems are expensive compared to a guitar cable

Good question - that was a first for me, too. I've always heard "r-out-er".
In the USA, "Route", to describe a road, is commonly said as both "root" or "r-out"
"Get your Kicks on Route 66" is an example of "root" as a roadway.

I also like reading about such differences. First read about these things in the lay book by Bill Bryson called The Mother Tongue. Might be plagued with inaccuracies as he's an amateur linguist, but it was still quite entertaining.
For example, in the Canterbury Tales the Scottish accent is heavily made fun of. The irony is, when read, you almost don't understand the English of the time at all but when it hits the Scott's dialogues, then it sounds quite modern. Hence London today has what used to be a Scotts accent! (probably get my butt kicked saying this on the streets of London!) Linguistic history is interesting to me in a lay way, especially for us "Low German" language folks! Don't even get me started in on the Norman conquest! haha

Interessting little gimmik. Next discussion will be: What is better, cable, wireless or this little thing? The older guitar pros are changing from wireless to the good old cable. Many voodoo stories there, what is the best for your signal. I cant hear the difference between an 15 or 50€ cable. Think it depents of my "Marshall ears" over the years. But i know people who can hear the grass grow up
