What is the best way to start "fresh"? I think I'm running 2.7.4 and honestly would just like to blow everything away and start with a fresh 3.0 (beta) system so that I'll only have the 3.0 factory content + my own purchased, profiled, and fave RE rigs.
Should I install 3.0, perform a factory reset, import factory rigs, then add my old rigs?
FW 3.0 - opinions?

Anyone remember the length of IR the Kemper truncates to?
The new cab 'removal' is absolutely amazing. I'm dumbfounded.
Finally i can get good results with IRs! That makes the Profiler so much more versatile it can't be overstated.
I can't, however, get those IRs into the Profiler.I've tried exporting some of my IRs via cabmaker, but the results are slightly dull-sounding.
The graph confirms a -6dB, symmetrical cut centered around exactly 13KHz, which seems a bit arbitrary.
Right now, i'm trying to see if maybe the truncation of the IRs is the culprit, hence my original question.Hopefully, someone knowledgeable chimes in!

The IR length is quite low. so if your converting from "long" IR's over 300mS then the kemper will truncate this down by some margin. I use (and create) IR's up to 1000 ms long in some cases for Room mics etc. so the Profiler will be having none of that

FW3.0 is great.. Now run it through a cab and turn it up!!
(but download the free Mergedpack first)
Hey Andy: any chance to have that plexi of your ('67 I believe) separated?
a hug
mic

So the new DI profiles available with 3.0 should be more authentic when used with different cabs? Does that include older firmware cabs or only new cabs profiles with 3.0?

Hey Ves..
Yes, the new FW will run the new "merged profiles pack" more authentically, but the previous ones will work in the same way as they did

You can do it this way but remember a factory reset doesn't erase your rigs. You have to delete them manually (Rig Mangaer is convenient for this). Then retieve the factory content and import your old rigs. -
No Michael Wagner DI Profiles...
Excuse my ignorance...once these DI Profiles are mixed in amongst my other 950 Profiles on my Kemper how do I know which are the DI Profiles...shouldn't "DI" be included in the Profile name?

Nice...just downloaded 3.0 beta. I'm on 2.7.4and have a casino gig in New York this weekend. Is it really safe to upgrade now or should I wait? Is it easy to get back down to 2.7.4 if need be?

Do I have to save and name every DI Cab one by one...I don't use rig manager.

I have gigged with a previous beta so I'd say yes, it's gig ready. OTOH with a NEW FW, even when it's public beta, I would do a rehearsal minimum to be sure that no bug was introduced.
That's how I do it. -

hi Rich....my call you stay on the previous one.....might be too much careful but I rather be protected.....

one question for all, a dumb one: the old profiles are sounding exactly the same, right? I mean 3.0, apart of the fixed things, will make hear the separation, but the old ones won't be affected.....anyone giving me a feedback?

That's how I do it.Wish I could get a rehearsal with it but my band never rehearses and only sees each other at gigs...we're about 90 minutes apart from each other.

I think I'll stay on the safe side for now...thanks guys!

No to figure out the amp names of the new Merged Profiles.
