Lasse, did you contact Kemper?
wonder what they have to say about it. guess they will have to try one of those rig of yours. if they cannot reproduce the issue they won't be able to fix it
I have just tested a few high gain rigs, some from your pack Lasse that I use quite a bit and couldn't get this to happen. I don't have a powered rack or toaster so coulnt test the speaker out so I tested the monitor out on my toaster and I couldn't reproduce this. Have you sent a backup to kemper HQ to investigate this as it might just be a bug with speaker out
I had it happen with an unpowered toaster. I think it may be input signal related - I wasn't using particularly high gain rigs -- just browsing plexi Marshall sounds. I hit the strings hard, and it happened.
paults, FW?
Using a non powered toaster here and having no problems.
I just went live with it and we all could hear it sounded 'chunkier' than usual, but we attributed that to new strings and a temperamental tube PA. Nothing like what Lasse is describing, though.
Settings are as follows;
-output EQ is flat
-clean sens at 0.0, dist sens at 0.8. Noise gate at 3.0, using performance mode.
-using main out left TS, main out is set to 'master mono'
-used a big bunch of different rigs, all un-merged
Palm mute unpowered.
It was like it just took over. I had to change rigs to get it to stop. If I remember correctly I kind of panicked and reached for the volume and it did not stop it. I had to switch rigs. If let go, I am positive the speakers or their amps would have been damaged.
I just figured somebody messed up on a rig so I didnt mention it.
This is interesting how some people are getting this and some not. Those people who get it should let us know the rig's if they are free ones of course, so those who haven't managed to get this issue can try and replicate it. I'm curious ?
I just listened to the OPs recording again and mine was much worse. Maybe because it was louder or something but mine would not stop like his did. He kept playing until it did it again. If I remember correctly, mine had some other noises like some popping and cracking with it. That could have been a reaction to my particular speaker setup and their amps compared to his.
It has been a week or two but I do remember it actually startled me quite a bit especially because it did not stop even though nothing was played on the strings after I fully muted it. It kept doing it so I reached over to the Kemper real fast to turn it down but, if I recall properly it did not stop so I hit my pedal to change the rig and it was gone.
I was running through random rigs on the exchange like Paults.
Like I said I thought it was a bad rig or something. It could have just been a freak thing. I hope so.
But if it happens again I will take note of the rig and other info. I will record it too but after I connect some unwanted speakers.
If you STORE the rig, overwriting the original, does it still happen?
I had this same thing happen in rev 2.7. I since dialed back my clean sense and distortion sense and it seemed to clear it up. It was weird because it would only do it for me on one note. But it was like suddenly the input or output went crazy and would just about blow the speakers. Seems like this issue has been here for awhile. Mine sounded just like this clip in the OP.
I am running 2.7.3.10479B , still on the beta, lol. I had to put my clean sense at -1.7 and DS at -1.4 for that sound to go away.
paults, FW?
The first time I heard it was right after I installed 3.0.0.10856.
Just listened to the clip. Sounds really nasty.
Are you experiencing the same sound at the Monitor output?
Is it depending on the overall monitoring volume or does it show up at any master volume setting?
I experienced it through the Main Outputs, with the Output set to -15db.
yeah, it's independent of the master volume and rig used.
I haven't tried the monitor out yet.
Had it today on a power rack version straight from power up after doing a system reset to try and fix an output clipping problem! Using the first beta 3 release. Not impressed as I'm trying to sort output with my new Camper+ speaker and it certainly isn't designed for 600W !!!
Are you experiencing the same sound at the Monitor output?
FW 3.0.0.10856 Popping through monitor out with aggressive attack. Using one of the merged rigs from the 3.0 factory pack.
I was about to install the merged rig pack. Think i should hold off??????
I haven't had any issues w my Kemper (lunch non powered)
