So like many I was looking for an alternative to lugging around an amp/cab and increase tonal versatility. I had electected to buy an Axe FX until I did further research. I chose the Kemper because of simplicity and positive feedback with regard to tone, which for me is paramount. My playing is not that great so every little bit helps! No seriously though, I am first and foremost a sound man that enjoys playing bass and some guitar and because of the dual purpose of the Kemper it seemed like a good direction to steer. My Powered lunchbox is yet to arrive so I am eagerly awaiting a phone call within a few days. In the mean time, it seems like a good idea to peruse the forum to glean some information about the amp so I can use it effectively. See y'all on the forum- nice to be here...

Welcome.
Use the waiting time to download and read the manuals, and watch the tutorials on YouTube. It'll help you get to grips with the profiler much faster when it arrives. -
Welcome from the home of the kpa!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I have always enjoyed the company of other musicians, well... For the most part anyway I can hardly wait! Yes I have begun the tutorial process as well as the destructions! But as they say the proof is in the mix! I suppose I should start a thread asking how folks are finding the Kemper whilst using live? I have read some stuff on how to use it live but not on the experiences from players and sound persons perspective. All things in time. I look forward to showing up at rehearsal with it as no one knows I ordered one! Of course they have all heard of Kempers but no one has had the pleasure of using one yet so this will be fun. We Canadians are a bit behind in the technology game from the Europeans don't you know.

Welcome!
Another Canadian here, from Calgary.I've had my KPA for over 3 years now, and I still think it's the best piece of gear I've ever purchased! For both studio and live use. And be ready... Every single time I use it live, I get a bunch of people asking me "What is that amp you're using?" followed by "Kemper? Huh... Never heard of it. It sounds great though!"

Nice! That's what I like to hear! I said that about some bass preamps before! Geez that sounded sweet! What were you plugged into? Sometimes an act will just throw a DI at me and say " there ya go ". Once in a while you get a real nice surprise. I still like to mic though

Dangerman! Welcome, bro'.
Same as you here - bass player, guitar dabbler, engineer (songwriter, keys & vox etc. too, but they're just needed to make pop toons!).
You know, whilst I waited for my Kemper for almost 2 months (like you, we in Aussieland get everything last... and more expensively), I collected a shedload of free profiles from the forum. I can save you the trouble 'though by telling you that to my dismay, the vast majority of them were already on the Rig Exchange, something I learned the night I hooked the Kemper up and installed the RM software.
Bottom line, IMHO studying up on the unit at this point in time will reap you more for your time. Much more.
My fingers and, well, monkey-toe fingers are all crossed for you that the unit arrives soon, D-Man!
