No sound via SPDIF when Kemper starts up with Firmware 3.30

I noticed that there's no longer any sound output by the Kemper during boot up in 3.30. In earlier versions, if you had the Kemper hooked up by SPDIF, you would be able to play your guitar, though the volume was lower than when the machine had fully booted up and the profile used I think is the CK_Zero rig.

Not too sure this is a good thing, or a bad thing.

The fact that there was sound over SPDIF during startup was considered to be unwanted and therefore changed in the update.

I liked being able to play along, but I get why you wouldn't want that too, maybe if it's starting with the knob set to tuner it should be muted, but elsewise it should be on.

IIRC (I don't use the digital out), people were complaining about the usual "toc!" at boot time.

That explains it. I don't mind if there's no sound, since it isn't the sound of the profile I want to load.

Now if only there was some way to reduce boot time. Can be a really scary prospect at some gigs where you have to rush on to the stage and finish your set.

Reducing the number of rigs has been shown to affect boot time, depending on how full your Kemper is.

Yep, everything that can be listed concur to booting time: performances, cabs, presets, amps, snapshots, stacks...

Yes, I recently bumped up the number of rigs on my Kemper so that I could do some auditioning. Will get around to whittling them down, but 800+ profiles takes a long time to go through diligently.
