Hello all. First off I'd like to introduce myself, I'm brand new to the forum. I'm a producer from Toronto, Canada and I'm happy to be here.
I'm wondering how many people here are using their Kemper as a processing box in their studios.
I am, of course, using it for guitar and loving it but I'm also excited with the possibilities to use it for other instruments. I was putting some drums through it this morning and loving the possibilities. Very cool indeed.
It would be great to hear any ways that some of you are using it in your studios.

The effects is the one department that is lacking I find

I think the OP means revamping through a profile, not only the effects.
I haven't done it, but for sure I will when the opportunity presents itself Vocals, drums, keys, whatever
And welcome!!!

Yeah, same here, Michael.
Of course, turning the amp block off instantly turns it into a "conventional" DSP.
The effects is the one department that is lacking I find
... and also the most underrated one... -
Welcome.
The Profiler can add certain "extra- somethings" to different instruments besides guitar and bass.
Also note there are profiles of outboard gear on the RigExchange.
And the FX's are getting better and better. -
Nice to hear from some of you.
While I'm excited to use the Kemper in the studio for it's FX, I'm particularly interested in it's use as a re-amper. Putting drums, vocals, keyboards etc. through different amplifiers and cabinets opens up a world of possibilities.
I experimented this morning with a snare drum smashed through a Trainwreck with a bit of spring reverb. Sounds pretty damned glorious. -
I like some of the rigs on the RE for vocals, sound pretty good sending a mic through the Kemper. If only it had phantom power...
-
I use a lot on synths (besides guitars & bass).
Piezo-equipped Kalimba is also nice -
I can imagine that sound building effect (EQ, OD , Dist, Trem, Phaser, Rotary and so on) it could work with a reasonable quality.
For time based effects (delay, Reverb, multi chorus) and sophisticated sound processing (Room position, Exiter, Surround effects and so on) I think the Kemper is not made for use in a professional Studio.
For home recording I can imagine that it is possible to get quite good resultates.
