Got my Kemper in the mail from Sweetwater yesterday. I'm 33 years old, but I felt like a kid waiting for Christmas. I spent the days leading up to "Kemper Day" reading online reviews, manuals, video tutorials (even the German ones). I'm absolutely floored by the tones I got right out of the box. I'm currently just running it through a QSC K8 at my house. I joined Michael Britt's email list which gave me a free set of his profiles (which are phenomenal). I'm excited to gig with it this weekend. We play a lot of small/medium clubs, with two QSC K12's for tops, and the KW118's for subs. Monitors are all in ear Sennheiser's, so I will use those for my "reference amp." I'm excited to be a part of this community, and I can't wait for the dirty looks from my tube snob friends! Haha
My Kemper came in yesterday!

Welcome,
I'm sure that the tube amp players, will rethink their sneers minding the aching back when getting older. Then again, without the tube amp players none of the great amps would have come to our attention. Being a great amp comes when enough of the right people play it at that.
So, if they'll come around to our point of view: So much the better for them.
If not, they're still most valued musicians and hopefully fun to make music with.Last but not least: It really feels good knowing that you'll never loose a sound comparison again.
Many happy Kemper days!
Greetings
JoachimPS: Before my Kemper arrived (quite some time now) I felt the same way as you did!

So did I, Joachim!
I wanted to put 20 years of L6 modelling behind me so badly. Whilst I did enjoy POD v1 & 2, things went steadily downhill from there for me, culminating in a huge drop with the HD500. I know some folks liked them, but I've never had to fight so hard for decent tones.
Thank God the Kemper cured my malaise, as I'm sure it will do for Waylon too!
