New tune, In another life
Wrote this tonight using the Rhett Shull Lightning 15 Push+ profile which feels great to play
-
Great tune Joe, lovely how heavy it gets although the profile is really not high gain at all. Very cool as well how the solo starts how powerful it gets there at the end...
Rhett's profiles are cool stuff. Kinda sad that he's not really in the Kemper camp these days. I was very inspired by his Skylark profiles back then when I discovered them. So different from what I usually prefer but indeed nicely done

Thanks very much deadman42 Yeah, its actually a great profile, out of all the ones i have i think this was one of his free ones. I used it stock for the verse and bridge sections then gained it up a bit for the chorus and the lead parts but its basically all the same profile.
I really like Rhetts playing and the tones he gets, it is a shame that he's not doing as much Kemper stuff now as his profile packs were great. I love the fact that its mostly clean to crunch stuff that he does. The Skylark profiles were brilliant too. I do like heavy rock but when you hear playing and tones as tasteful as his you have you stop and listen.

New tune, Sandahlabucs
Hi there, i wrote this tonight again using the Rhett Schull profile with a bit of gain added. Its quite riffy
-
Another good one Joe. Still those profiles are rather low gain but the result is heavy as hell
-
Sounds good Franjoe30 !
deadman42 yeah but low gain brings out the articulation which can be a good thing, moist of the "heavy" is in that bass. To me once you start adding distortion guitars become more breathy/pipe sounding and less plucked till they become almost a pure tune, which means high gain = organ, low gain = accordion. Which on paper sounds awful but in reality it creates this very rich concentration of mids sound and texture.

Thanks Per deadman42 There's a definitely a miss conception about heavy guitar tones sounding HUGE. It isn't really until you start recording yourself that you realize that to get the articulation you really need to dial the saturation back to open up the tone. 1 guitar left an 1 right with bass in between on lower gain settings just sounds HUGE.

New tune, Kentucky derby
Wrote this tonight using the same Rhett Shull profile, this time i varied the gain. More pop rocky than metal

Get your singer into the Kentucky Derby Joe. Very nice dynamics, much space for good vocals. And indeed pretty much a pop song this time
-
Ripping solos! Especially love the thin lizzy style intro riff, excellent stuff Franjoe30 !
Thanks Per i thought a more harmonized melody suited the arrangement

Thanks deadman42 Funnily enough, Andy said he really liked it so you never know. I do love this profile of Rhett's
