Is the MXR Carbon Copy delay emulated in the stomps
section? If not, what would be the closest approximation? tia

I had one for a short while many years ago and found it quite unremarkable, which is why I sold it, even without getting a frequency plot or impulse response from it.
The Echomachine preset is probably not that far off.
Do you have a Carbon Copy? -
Use the Single Delay, cut the highs at 3kHz and add a little warble. Should get you in the ballpark

that is pretty much what the Echo Machine does - try the 'Cut More' feature on an off as well

I agree that the Carbon Copy shouldn’t be hard to emulate. However, although I managed to get in the general ballpark with the single delay i was never able to get it to sound exactly like a real Carbon Copy. I still have mine but can’t be bothered running a hybrid setup so just use the single delay.

With the Profiler (my opinion), the effect parameters mean ‘duplicating’ a sound is kind of missing the point.
If what you want/need/desire is a Carbon Copy or Strymom’s Cloud reverb or a Klon…..whatever…Use the actual pedal. The Profiler will be no more or less exact than any other clone.
If you’re going for a sound…..then the effects will let you get lost in textures and sounds you just ‘find’.
All that to say….I gave up trying to duplicate stuff. I fiddle until I like it. YMMV.

I sort of agree with you. The only difference is that even if I did want to duplicate the sound of a pedal I still wouldn’t be bothered doing it as the reason for getting something like the Kemper (for me at least) is to have a simple all in one solution.
