Curious to weather the future editor will be ran through USB or through midi. I would prefer USB as it's one less piece of equipment that I have to have hooked up.
Will the editor be ran through midi or the USB?

I can 100% guarantee it won't be MIDI. It'll almost definitely USB, since they've already said that the ethernet jack will be used for the foot controller.
-
Sweet. I figured so, just wanted to verify.
-
I must be missing something... why is the use of the RJ45/ethernet jack going to force them to use USB for an editor?
-
How would you plug both a foot controller and your computer into the same jack? Also, how many other pieces of audio gear have you seen that use ethernet for their PC connection?
*Disclaimer* I don't work for Kemper, I'm just very certain of this based on how every other piece of hardware in the universe is set up.
-
The question may remain as the Kemper is not like everyother piece of gear
-
If we look at what they used for Virus synth......USB?
-
Since the ethernet port already presents an unused web server, I'm expecting USB for computer control/editing.
-
USB.

What editor? Has there been any mention that we will be getting an editor?

It was mentioned on here a while back that Kemper are working on an editor

It was mentioned that they are working on a librarian software, most likely capable of editing meta data. But it won't be an editor to "program rigs".

No problem, Raoul.
I just hope they will give the software a smart name to avoid further confusion and misconception in the community. -
They'll call it Kemper Librarian. I can see it now. The boot up screen will be Mr CK wearing glasses with a sardonic grin on his face. Every time you attempt something that shouldn't be attempted, a voice will play back saying, "Mein Gott, you can't do that anymore".

just to add clarification to this thread..
An Editor:
...Is where you can control the unit via software, anything from rig names to effects to options and deep editing.
An Librarian:
....IS where you can manage large amounts of data (rigs) and control, name, sort etc...
I also read that Kemper team are doing a Librarian. as the Kemper wont ever need an editor**, as its front panel is easy to control manually/ or prefer.
**I do however see a use for a editor for the "rack" versions, as I know studios that have them away from the siting position. and thus could be a problem for long term. - however Kemper would not do a massive groundhog of work for only a small percentage of users that would need...
