Been working on setting all this up for awhile, and can't really hold back anymore - I'm headed into a recording studio next week to work up some profiles.
Ok, not a big deal, right? Well...
Fellow who runs the studio has a list of recording credits a mile long and vintage gear to match. We're talking about incredibly rare stuff. Like.... a vintage RCA Tube recording preamp he got from Les Paul. Yeah, THAT Les Paul. Vintage Led Zep model Supro amps, and the same model of mics they used and such. This guy knows Eddie Kramer. He also owns a really stellar sounding '52 Tweed Princeton. When I was there I also saw a Cage custom guitar amp, lots more vintage amps, freaking AMAZING tube recording gear and too much stuff for me to even remember all of it or detail it properly. I'm taking a camera and will have lots of pics of this candy land for musicians.
So, I booked a session, we'll see how much we can get profiled and such. My main focus is going to be on getting some killer Zep profiles made first, then some of that Princeton and go from there until my time is up. I'm going to just scratch the surface of what he has, but it should be enough to at least make a killer pack of profiles. If they do well enough to recoup my costs, then I'll go back again and get some more rare stuff profiled.
I'm going to keep doing my 'regular' profiles - but I'd be a fool to not create profiles with the help of a guy who has decades of experience and amazing gear that you don't even see often in major recording studios.
Stay tuned!
