I have a Lowden Jumbo fitted with a mic+piezo combination pickup that I am interested in running through my Kemper. I would ideally prefer to run a direct signal... no profiles or cabs. However, when I tried it this morning (I used one of my stock rigs and switched off the Stomps, Stacks and FX modules) I got no useable signal. I then tried running the input of the guitar into my LR Baggs Para Acoustic DI box then into the Kemper with almost no additional benefit. I could really use some help understanding what the best approach is here.
Where to start creating a rig for acoustic guitar (piezo pickup)?

I believe that something's got to stay "on" on the KPA in order to produce some output. Try to leave on reverb for example.

is the INPUT LED showing a signal when you plug your guitar in and play?
piezo/mic pickups typically have a preamp also build into the guitar, so there should be a healthy level.
check the battery maybe? -
I set one up on stage, killed the Stack section but left the Stomp and Effects sections on, one of the Stomps was a Pure Booster. Worked quite well, hope this helps.

check the battery maybe?OK, I finally got a result. I had to increase the rig volume and use either a boost on the Kemper or my Baggs preamp to get sufficient level from my monitor to hear the amplified signal above the acoustic volume from my guitar. Also had to balance in favour of the piezo output from my Blend pickup to avoid feedback howl. Best result by far was running my LR Baggs in front of the Kemper. I bypassed only the Stack module.

I created a profile of the Fishman Platinum Pro EQ DI box. It's on the exchange! Give it a try

Christoph Kemper has created a so called "initialized Rig" for those who want to have a Rig working without an Amp or Cab...
Take a look into the Rig Exchange... or search in the forum....

Have you tryed to push the amp volume in the stack section? This, in combination with cleansense , may work.
I have an awesome piezzo sound with my music man petrucci bfr 6. ok, its an electric guitar but with a piezzo too.
The little preamp works good but every time i have look on my battery.
When the battery is a little low, some noise appears. I changed it ervery 3 month. -
If you have an Avalon U5 (or have access to one), profile the unit with EQ setting 2 and use a guitar with piezo to refine.
Sounds fantastic... -

Please do it!!

Here's the U5 profile (using EQ setting 2)
Works well with my electrics that have a piezo in the bridge. -
Thanks! Can I suggest putting it on The Rig Exchange?

Hi Paul,
Absolutely...
I'll do that this evening. -
Tried this with a piezo today sounded great thanks Jim
