I am getting unwanted distortion sounds from my Kemper. Even on clean sounds there is an distortion sound a bit like you get from a blown speaker. I know its not the speakers as the Kemper is the only thing that affects it. Its also somewhat intermittent. I invested in a power conditioner to see if that helps but it's no different. Any ideas?

Is the input or output led going red when it happens?

Check your input setting and test different settings. see Vid:

Start with Distortion sense 0 and clean sence with 0To increase distortion you can reduce gain and the definition in the amp-section. see Vid:

Also, check whether your signal is hitting your speakers too hot.

I have tried all these things and it makes no difference. I am connecting my Kemper into a Focusrite Saffire pro 40 and the monitors i'm using are Presonus E8's and I am connecting to the Pro 40 via a SPDIF Cable.
-
Please try to connect the monitors directly to the analog outs of the Profiler for a test.
Maybe you are clipping the spdif input of your interface. Have you tried to lower the spdif out volume in the output menu? -
Yup i've tried that and I've used the analog outs and get the same result.
-
Do you get this with headphones, using the HEADPHONE out (!) of the Profiler?
Have you tried connecting your speakers directly (!) to the Profiler - be very careful with the MASTER VOLUME, as active monitors are usually always running full power. <- !
Please record an example.
-
what about my question regarding the input and output LEDs?
-
I have now tried plugging in the monitors direct with the same result and I have checked the input/output led's and they are not peaking.
-
I have just restored the Global settings and at the moment it seems to be behaving itself. Thanks for the help everyone Imay come back to you again if the problem re occurs.
