Stupid question but I was wondering if pluging and unpluging guitars while the kpa is on would damage the unit in any way. This of course comes from tubes where you have to put the amp on a standby state if an instrument isn't connected.
Thanks

No caution necessary regarding the profiler.
Depending how you amplify your signal and how loud you are you could potentially do some damage to sensitive speakers through. -
I have been using these cables for a few years. I love them... The Neutrik silent plug makes changing guitars so much more enjoyable... And the cable itself is great too.

Thanks guys!

I have been using these cables for a few years.
I use the same cable.
At the one hand I can change guitars without any noise at the other hand I can unplug my guitar and save battery in the breaks. (I have a piezo bridge in my strat) -
I do two things. I have a Gibson cable ( http://store.gibson.com/gibson…ent-cables-25-foot-cable/ ) that shuts off when you unplug. D'Addario/Planet waves also make a cable with a switch. I also use my TC Polytune 2 pedal, when I activate it it mutes the input.

If you are using the Kemper remote, just hit the tuner button to mute your signal.

That! I was thinking about buying a simple switch box for my guitars. But kickin' in that tuner with mute enabled is more simple and won't interfere with my tone as a switch box may do.

Yep, sounds like a good idea for me too...
But the tuner option would be free... -
I always hit the tuner, plus you have a quick check with new guitar...
BTW never heard that it affects tube amps. I can understand you don't unplug the speaker cable due it having load but don't understand why you would switch onto standby...I always did the same thing with a tube amp - tuner...

Me too. That's a myth that's out there which leads people into thinking it would damage tube amps. Even if you wouldn't mute it. The loud noises while plugging in or pulling out the cable are just noises like the guitar makes noises. For the amp it doesn't matter. It wouldn't damage the amp. If it's loud enough maybe it would damage the PA but even that is questionable to my mind.
Correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe I just got lucky over the years but my amps still work like a charm. -
That's good. BTW, it's a shame my charm doesn't work like an amp...

I look at it this way too.The dynamic range, or more to the point, the maximum output level of the amp, for however you've set it up gain-wise, doesn't change no matter what you plug into it, no matter how hot its level might be. You could insert a 240v power-plug pin into it and all you'd do is blow up the amp.

I'm not gaining anything at the moment from that last statement... maybe just a little blown-off at the moment
