I'm not sure if I can incorporate this with my band, and I don't know if I should even try with 2 guitars and a keyboard (and Access Virus) player.
But boy, playing with this and merging it with pure Kemper guitar sound is 100% FUN!
And the playability is just great.
Bought myself a Boss SY-300. 100% fun ( EDIT: lasting one week). ;)

Interesting. I have a Fishman Triple Play with FC-1 floor controller, along with a Roland JV-1010. This would be a lot easier to set up and tear down. However, from the few videos I've seen, I think the JV-1010 has some better sounds (at least for my use). This approach has its appeal though, as there seems to be very little latency.

Better is, as always, subjective.
The philosophy behind the SY-300 is not to emulate anything like sample based 'synthesizers' but to truly create sounds from scratch like all the old analog units did.
And in this it excels IMO. -
Agreed. We each have different needs and likes

I was thinking of buying a Roland GR-55 this weekend but I'm not to sure how to set it up with the Kemper.
I would get the SY-300 if it had piano sounds, which I need for my Bowie tribute band.Have fun with the new gear Ingolf !!!

Sy300 doesn't really have any real piano sounds. The Gr55 has real sample based sounds, a bit of a bear to set up but works great. I have mine setup to one channel of my Atomic CLR and the Kemper to the other. I run the 2 cable method from my guitar to each unit.
Pending on the sounds you are looking for a Fishman TriplPlay may be a better way to go and it is wireless.
Visit the vguitars forum for all your answers on Roland, Triple Play, and other gear. Lots of good member made patches as well.Ingolf, Check out the SY-300 part of that forum it's been very active lately

Thanks whippingpost91850!!
I have the powerack going into a cab and use a line6 wireless. I think I will put the the pickup on a ESP and use that for the required songs using the aux in of the Kemper, and Parker in the front input of the Kemper with the wireless. Can midi out of the Kemper change patches on the GR-55 in performance mode?
It looks like I'll be busy for a few days! -
Sorry for hijacking you thread Ingolf, just a lil excited lol
-
Reminds me a lot of the vintage GR-300 I had back in about 1982
Needed a hex pickup for that, but it wasn't pitch to MIDI.
It was a lot of fun for about a year then I sold it for peanuts. -

Nevermind. -

Yes it has a lot of the GR-300 vibe indeed. -

Yes, it can

Welcome to the world of sonic madness. I use the SY-300 together with the KPA for several months now and I really love it.
Yes, it can
It works great with the SY-300 too.
Too bad that the expression pedals and control switches of the KPA remote can't be routed to external gear like the SY-300. This would be the last step to sonic heaven to me.

This looks like a fun device. It's important to note that it doesn't involve any kind of hex pickup, so it is going to be a different experience than using a GK pickup or a Triple Play. I think the closest parallel would be those EHX synth pedals, but I think this is much better because you can change patches and those are limited to a single sound.
Ingolf, how does it track? Care to put up a video?

Anderton's always does great video reviews....and funny as hell!

These are fun and they track quite well, especially when you consider there is no dedicated pickup. It's a fun unit for some lead lines or a drone under your playing.
I would love to see Roland expand on this idea to replace the GR-55. So much easier to get into guitar synth if you can use any axe.
Have fun playing!

Ingolf, how does it track? Care to put up a video? With this unit you don't even think about tracking, because you actually even cannot perceive any latency (no AD conversion).
And I didn't have to delve into any sensitivity adjustments as as well (having it used mainly with my Reverend Jetstream with P90's as of now). -

Care to share your signal chain, @Rome ?

All this will be included in the KPA firmware 6.0
Allways wonder why L6 and the AxeFx has all the Synth stuff the KPA is missing ...

I just sold a GR300 system that I had for 20 years. Looks like that was a good move!
