Ever have bad tone days?
Where literally everything you dial in sounds terrible? Including your own presets?
Howd you guys get past it?

Never had a bad tone day since owning the Kemper
Welcome to the family I can't say that I've had but a few since I got my Kemper. I just played through it and chalked it up to tired ears
I just got one a week ago and I've been over the world with it! Just everything I've done today just sounds... 'eh'.
It's usually better next day
Been there, done that. There were days when I wanted to sell all my gear and give up guitar completely
However, I did get over it. I'm not sure what causes it, but a large dose of volume won't hurt ...
Welcome..
Welcome!
Welcome, Steve!
Kemper solved that problem, mate.
Yes, it's psychological, laddie! I have seen some of my profiles magically transform from glorious into bad and then back to beautiful without me editing them, same guitar and all...
It's the old guitarist's curse. Usually your playing reflects your mood as well.
Welcome btw!
I'm with Zap, cranck the volume up , 7" monitors are not 4x12 cabs
I also find that with headphones, it's very important where they sit over your ears - that can have a tremendous impact and can definitely change from day to day
I usually just wait a little Humans like us are really very bad at objectively evaluating sounds. I usually keep profiles that I like... lets say 4 times out of 5 tries.
best to take a break, maybe even a day or 2 if poss... and then your fresh ears will reveal the truth.. good or bad !
I usually blame the drummer.
Yep, if a volume boost doesn't help then I would do definitely give it a break and come back with fresh mind & ears. How long of a break is easy.... Till you really can't wait any longer to play your guitar on the KPA again > your ready.
Buy some new commercial profiles, that'll cheer you up!
Hey hey! Bad tone days happen... keep on keeping on!
ofcource! all musicians have it!! one evening you dont want play guitar at all! your fingers suck and your tone suck!! but next day you may have tweaked and found a soft spot on an tube amp rig, and play riffs and solos all alone for many hours!! times fly! We all have good or bad days.. thats nature.. some gigs you are glad its over when the bell rings, but other gigs you know before you came is going to be be good! but i have tought about it many times.. why do sounds and guitars feel and sound different from day to day even when its the same settings!!
I do!...less since i have the KPA...
I more or less handle them the same:
In the old days, i spend a lot of time buying/settting up a rig, and then decide to stick with it for at least a year. Saved me a lot of time trying and buying new geár on the first day of frustraion
KPA...i decided on a limited number of sounds, and put them in a performance (2), thats what ill work with for now. Keeps me from endless search for next thing...and gets me focus on playing (with what i got)
