killler Tone, I swear I was hearing a JCM900
Guess the amp?

it is through my rectifier 2x12 with heil pr20 mic.
Cool! So does this have a speaker out mod? I have done that to my Marshall Master Reverb, but was to lazy yet to do it to the Rage 158. Mine also looks different - has silver stripe, instead red.
There is a funny story: A work colleague has given it to me - it looked perfect, but she said it was used for years, but always had this clanky rattle in the sound. It was so annoying to her, that she gave it away for free on that day. In my homestudio I cleaned up the amp (although it looked nice already) and discovered that a coin (10 Pfennig) was sticking on the speaker in the back of the combo. Of course this was causing the weird sound all the years, but nobody noticed it

Just the look on the face of others when you turn up to a gig with this would be priceless ahaha... Yup Metallica use a dual axe live...for James..he uses a
diezel patch AND a Mesa patch AT ONCE to make ONE sound...I knew i was not crazy wanting to have 2 kempers each side with 2 different rigs...another amp makes the already magic tone more magic. IMHO (try it first to see)Ash

Thanks for the info, that means I will NOT getting myself a standard Peavey Rage "for fun", and stick with this profile instead
Yeah i can promise you that the rectifier 2x12 really help this amp to sounds as it does in this profile

UPDATE!
But somebody on another forum complained about the tone being "nasal" and after listening I can totally agree. So I found the nasal issue at about 500khz and cut it a couple of dbs.

You're spot on their, Sir!
The first mix4 clip sounded good(ish) but the mix 7 clip sounded absolutely awesome!
I believe Peavey Rages are now starting to change hand on the used/vintage market for insane Dumble like prices as a result of your clip

And yet all the buyers will be incredibly dissapointed when they find out that it was not made with stock speaker anyway

That nasal quality is prevalent in a lot of cabs, actually. I think you'll find that 700Hz is where it typically resides. I've cut as much as 4dB and 5dB at times.

, and then some studio post-EQ to get rid of nasty whistle spikes and all that stuff that you would do on any amp anyway.
Curious , what frequency was/is the whistle spike? I think I know what you're talking about and I hear it in quite a few profiles I've made.
-
Thats something you hear in just about every distorted amp ever.
It's usually a couple of nasty frequencies at about 2-4khz and/or 5-6khz that you notch down with a a narrow Q so they dont make your ears tired.
However, they shouldn't be completely eliminated either because they are also what makes the guitars bite! -
I forgot, which way is a narrow Q? It's counter clockwise right?

Clockwise to narrow.

If you didn't guess before the reveal, don't act like a "knowitall" now.
Exactly

If we're talking about fizz, it's profile dependent. You can often see it using a spectrum analyzer, which is also an efficient way to flatten spikes using one or more narrow EQ bands.
