Hi all
One of my best friends passed away last year, he left me 2 guitars which i am honoured to be custodian of. This is the first tune i've written with both of them. It's the first time i've really attempted recording acoustic guitar

Oh hai there New Wave! This is really great Franjoe30 , feels like a totally new direction for you. Lovely sensitive sounding tune, the best way to remember our loved ones no longer able to raise a toast with us slàinte mhath!

It's interesting because this one also has a little bit of that New Wave feel, though more towards the Factory Records end of things, perhaps the pups are just that much lower gain that it's inspiring you in that direction. Great job on the bare solo too, adds great dynamics and tension to the piece.

Thanks Per You know when you pick up a guitar and play it for the first time, sometimes it speaks to you other times you have to work with it. On this occasion they spoke to me right away and this is what came out lol.

The Custodian is interesting. It has a feel of a Western Gallop influence.

Well done Joe, it's a very good move from your friend and these guitars are in the right hands

Thanks waraba As long as i don't play any Bon Jovi he'll be looking down on me thinking "i wish he'd learn some new scales....." lol. My buddy Derek was brilliant, an amazing guitar player and just an great all round guy

Nice chug riff added to the rhythm verse and good Beethoven play.

This is a great masterclass on cohesion and separation and how clean your rhythm guitar work is Franjoe30 . Of course I love that you snuck in *that* PF style super dark bass note and chord in there, you know the one I mean. I feel that you desperately need a really top notch singer or two, wish I knew some cos I'd send them your way, there's so much commercial potential in here.

Glad to see the strat back in action , get muted notes & clean play as Per Said, well done !

Getting a Strat to sound fat like this is not easy so kudos to Mr Collins!
I echo Per's sentiment about a singer. These tracks are just too good not to get recognition.
Cheers,

New tune, Rear view mirror
Pretty epic intro! And great layering of the elements throughout the tune. Vocals needed! Lovely tune, Joe

BayouTexan Per deadman42 Mats_Nermark waraba Thank you all so much for your very kind and inspiring comments. This track definitely grew arms and legs as i recorded it and it was allot of fun to do. I would love to get someone singing on there. Again, coming up with this was mostly luck on my part 😂
