Hi,
I'm a self confessed junkie for the D-style sounds of Larry Carlton and Robben Ford.
Therefore I'd be very interested to learn what profiles you use when you want to play stuff like that?
Thanks!

Your stuff.
Thank you very much for the freebies!
Hi!
I uploaded some Fuchs ODS profiles to the Rig Exchange (PACO MATA) and a collection of 18 profiles in these two threads.

Thanks for all the suggestions and profiles.
I think I have auditioned them but will do so again just to make sure I haven't missed anything.
There just seem to be something elusive about the Fuchs amps that makes it hard to capture the detailed attack and the fullness and warmth of the body.
Cheers,
Mats N

I agree. Something good is missing when profiling these Dumbles.

I thought I was being clever and looked for 'Ethos' in the Rig Exchange...
and guess who made it...

Hi Don!
Yeah, that was one of my first profiles. The Ethos into my Traynor YCV-40. While I still think it's a usable profile it's nothing near what I'm looking for in a Fuchs ODS.
Cheers,
Mats N
Hi Mats,
What settings and speaker do you like with the Fuchs ODS?
Hi Mats,
What settings and speaker do you like with the Fuchs ODS?
As I don't own one and have always tried them with different guitars, I don't remember any great settings in detail. But if you want a reference there are some nice tones I like in Andy's demo here:

I am still trying to come up with a profile of my ODS30 that I am happy with. I don't have a great recording setup so
that is my main issue. I have thought of going to a friends place that runs a pro studio to do it and may at some
point in the future. Paco some of my best tones that I get from my Fuchs is all switches down and run input volume 12-2 O'Clock
and OD Gain anywhere between 10 and 12 and master to taste. Also have the mid boost on. I run it through either an open back
112 with an Eminence RWB or EVM12L. Both great starting points for a Robben Ford type tone. Lower Gain slightly for Larry.
Guitars of course are the other equation but this can be a ball park setting to start with. I have also tried profiling my Ethos only with
pretty good results and am planning on doing a few more.
Mats we all owe you alot for your profiles of the Black Goop and VanWeeldon Stop etc. I was originally going to say check your own profiles
Mine, with settings from Andy's video and a Les Paul, sounds like this:

SOON my neighbour will be in vacation !!! : and I will be able to try to profile my Fuchs ODS 30
I'll probably need some advices ( I'm not at all a recording specialist ! ) : I've a SM57 and an old sennheiser 441. I'll try both ( lot of possibilities with the 441 with a 5 positions rotary for the low and a switch for the middle curve. ) BUT i'll do this in the SAME small room
Anyway : my Fuchs has been a little bit tweaked to be more in the Fender side ( for the clean ) == I've put an old Eminence speaker ( from a Mark IIB i had 26 years ago ! ) and some interesting NOS tubes = Brimar and Sylvania select for "Baldwin" ( I like them BETTER than some Mullard, Brimar, ... ) ... and a set of Philips 6l6 STR415 ( I was lucky enough to meet Boogie Boss Randall Smith 25 years ago in Petaluma ... for tubes problem with my Mark IIB -one of the three first in France - and He told me that these 6L6 was definitively the best sounding 6L6 )
Since this time, after lot of tests (RCA, Sylvania, ... ) , I totally agree and try to use them all the time. There is some "hum" with all these old tubes BUT a such detailled and dynamic behavior !!!
I'll try my best to capture this. My first tries were ... not really good and DON'T capture at all the special results of this ODS 30
So,again, I'll probably need your advices = mics : which one, positions, distances, how manage the "ONE room profiling challenge", to be sure to really hear the profile ... ... ( I've NO solution to "record" and so to set FIRST the sound of ODS with the correct mic choice, correct positions, ... )
Anyway ... SOON

Did you use the midboost and/or gainboost here? Andy's clip has a lot more gain when he hits the OD channel.

No midboost or gainboost, just the OD channel with the settings on the video (OD input very low). Probably his PUs are hotter than mine.
I will be able to try to profile my Fuchs ODS 30
Salut !
Voilà le thread ultime pour profiler ton ampli :
show us your foolproof mic position(s)

encore, merci,
