See, this is not a downside of reamping, quite the opposite
Record both the dry, unprocessed ("unamped") guitar track, and also the wet guitar track WITH the delay effects etc. If it works out in the final mix, you're golden. If you, however, find out that those delays are taking up too much real estate when you throw in all the other instruments (reverb is often a culprit more than delay, but anyway...) - then you just reamp with the delays lower in the mix. Then you're golden still
