I heard a rumour ...any one else hear anything ?
Are Kemper working on A VST Plugin ? ....

I would doubt it.
-
A friend of mine got an email from the mothership saying that' nothing we can comment at the minute with a winky smiley face' ......
-
What would the VST plugin do, use profiles?
-
It might allow Profiles to be saved in the DAW project, so they can be loaded into the Kemper when a track is made active in an saved Project.
BUT, that is just a guess.
If the Offiicial response is "no comment" , I don't think you'll get any additional information on the Forum.

IMO I doubt it and I hope they don't to be honest. With all the cracked software about kemper not making a plugin protects all our investment.

I would kill for this, and/or a GUI to edit rigs from right there in my DAW. I fiddle with a lot of different tones when I'm recording, and often forget what I recorded the verse and chorus for a particular track with when I go back to add a bridge.

I agree - the KPA have a great potential to have DAW VST version to save and manage presets (with MIDI or USB or Ethernet).
Why?:1.KPA is working now with RM and 3rd party controllers based on MIDI messages
2. USB is almost class compliant MIDI device
3. Almost every parameter in the KPA can be controlled via MIDII hope the mothership is working on such solution.
So VST for controlling hardware KPA is possible in my opinion. -
Would be amazing to be able to control Kemper from within the daw.
-
Going further - the USB is the most propably option in this case :
1. You can have your 3rd party pedalboard connected via MIDI in and out
2. You can have Remote conected via ethernetSo the only one pot is left for communication to the DAW - USB.
Of course this is only a wild guess. -
My vote for reamp over usb!

I highly doubt it - i think there will be no streaming audio over USB. -
Yeah, I am not holding my breath but it would be useful.

I hope not either!
i would need AU!
-
I wonder if Kemper would ever considered partnering with UAD? Their plug ins have never been cracked as far as I know and they could possibly make use the UAD Apollo I/O to profile amps through some of their own plugins.
Cheers,

I hope not, the Apollo is my least favorite piece of gear in my home studio, horrible DAC sound quality, the way they second class PC users too would be just unacceptable. UAD plugins are also ridiculously overhyped, there are a couple of gems but mostly they're worse than free plugins yet come at outrageous prices. The only reason I keep it is that I'm too lazy to sell and too poor to replace.
Its better that Kemper remain independent and don't get tied to others technology too much, dependency on others means you end up at their whim, and when things don't work for users you end up,with a runaround of poor service and that just damages both companies reputations.
If Kemper ever do a VST I hope that it's simply a controller/editor for the Kemper itself. That would be great and would protect users investments.

An Idea would be to make a Kemper VST/AU in Amplitube or Guitar Rig Style with the Kemper itself connected as piracy protection. It would not even have to render all the Audio, just like an Ilok or another USB device (doesn't Pro Tools work that way either?)
We'd have the benefit of being completely flexible and by the same time being sure that no one else could do it without the actual hardware. It would just be very awesome for existing customers.

It doesn't make sense to me - because of latency of the vst.
-
What? That means that no one was ever able to use Guitar Rig or Amplitube for recording!
Ever? Everybody was fighting with latency of a VST? I do not think so.I even know people who use Guitar Rig (god may forgive them) live without a single complain of latency.
Bias for iPad is a valid option as well. And an iPad contains no DSP-Chip. -

Yep - you are right - but latency is dependent on the host side. Not only the latency but also stability.
And you must remember that there are no hardware based 100% lock protection.
