My band just opened up for Disturbed, Seether, Volbeat and Alter Bridge this past Saturday. I had an all-access pass, so naturally, I got to the venue as early as possible to take in as much as possible. While everything was being set up on stage, I wandered over to Dan Donegan's rig (guitarist for Disturbed) and checked everything out. He's using a Bogner and Engl for his main sounds, but while I was there, I noticed a Kemper in his guitar tech's rig. Then, I looked again at Dan's racks, and noticed he had two Kempers in them. Later that night we were all hanging out backstage and I was talking to him and John Moyer (Disturb's bassist) about stuff, and we got talking about the Kempers. They both love them. Dan said he's primarily using his for his in-ear signals. He noted that he was very impressed with them. John said he loves using them in the studio when he's producing for other bands, and they're great for fly rigs when they don't have all of their normal stage rigs available. I really thought this was cool because honestly, I haven't seen too many mainstream artists using them live in the US yet. I know the Kempers are huge in the studios and seem to have a bigger following in Europe right now (which is understandable), with bands like Muse and Trivium leading the way. But to see Kemper becoming part of some of the top mainstream artists in the US is a good sign.
I'll post some pictures and videos in this thread as soon as I get time, showing their setups, as well as a quick clip or two of my band so you can hear it during sound check and during the performance. The sound was AWESOME! Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge (formerly of Creed) had just finished his sound check and was standing on the side of the stage talking to someone when I unleashed the sound of my rig. He instantly looked over and gave a smiling look of approval. I talked to him about the Kempers later and he also said they're amazing (he's not using them live though).
