-
Hmmmmm... quite tempted to try one of these

Looks and sounds like a bang for the buck
Bax shop Netherland 799€ + only 166€ for the footswitch. Gas is upcomming.
Vid from session music is cool

Interesting.
What bothers me most with H&K is that their product life cycle historically has been a few years at best.
So I wonder when the big Spirit 200 blowout will take place. 2020? 2021? -
Very interesting

According to the marketing it's the best amp there's ever been:
"Black Spirit 200 delivers an explosive ride through musical history, a four-channel eruption of thrilling sounds that gives you the most intense playing experience you’ve ever felt."
-
... and again:

I really don't like that they won't tell you how the sound is produced.
It's analog and thats about all we know. But they never even say if it is something entirely knew or just a combination of technology that was already out there.
The demos don't sound bad though.
But like with all gear I would have to play one myself. -
Thats part of the “Hype-Creation” for a new solid state amp.
-
I suspect it uses some of the same tech as the Bluguitar Amp1. Thomas Blug was a designer at H&K before he debuted the Amp1 and something about the 4-channel set up is very familiar...
-
A bit strange though, right? Analog modelling amp. Is it analog? Is it modelling? Is it analog modelling? I saw an interesting comparison to the Grandmeister 40 on YouTube.
For the record, I like Hughes and Kettner, some real innovative designs and sounds.
-
Well, if it's what I'd call "analogue modular", it's not modelling by any stretch of the imagination, IMHO.

I like H&K Tube amps and they seem like a good company. I know some really good players rely on the Amp 1 as their main amp (folks like Jennifer Batten get a great sound from it).
I actually did a gig at the weekend and the other Guitarist was using a BlueGuitar Amp 1. He used to use a Fender CyberTwin but had a problem with it at one gig and wanted a simple portable backup. At that time I suggested he just carry an Amp 1 in his case and use it with the CyberTwin's speakers in the event of an emergency. Fast forward a few years and he is now using it along with a custom built 2x12 cab as his main amp. It sounded pretty good at the weekend but when I plugged in my powered Toaster the difference was night and day.

You ruined his party, Alan.
Naughty boy, and naughty CK!

I use my AMP1 quite regularly live, with my pedal board set up. I've tried it in a few different configurations (I have the Remote1 and Looper Kit, too), but have found it to be best when used as a clean pedal platform, though I use the Vintage channel with just a hair of break up. Horses for courses. My pedal board set up is lighter than carrying my toaster, Remote and Ambrosi in the KPA bag, so if it's a gig I'm cycling to (it's Copenhagen, y'all!), I'll tend to take the pedal board just to ease the weight on my shoulder. I get great sounds with both, though the new spring reverb definitely gives the KPA the edge.
-
For size and convenience I struggle to see anything that can compete with the AMP1.

I’ve received mine yesterday and my first impression is very good. Very Natural feel and plenty of power. I use it with H&K 4x12 cabinet. Very versatile and good clean en od sounds! Sagging knob is extremely usefull and gives a lot of different sounds. So far I am impressed.
