Be more lazy Per . Sounds like you are getting used to the new monitors pretty quickly. Just the solo at 1:00 needs to be 1.5 - 2.0db lower.

rhodes is such a great instrument with a jazz guitar tone
It's just a great instrument all-'round in my book.
Always loved 'em. Takes chorus, phaser and distortion really-well.

Rhodes is indeed lovely. Thanks chaps.

I'd call it pop blues rock and yeah, cool tune.

Yup, that's basic brit shoe gaze blues rock. All rock owes its roots to folk music, it feels like the majority of British rock comes from blues, American from country and prog from medieval. There's sprinklings of baroque, romantic, raga, reggae etc throughout everything but even if something seems hard to immediately identify if you think about the main types of folk music it generally fits into one of those categories. Nothing gets done in a bubble.
Anyhow, tonights

Loved the bass right away! (hooked me in). Mix is near perfect. I would tighten up the kick though (release). It has a little too much flub.

Thanks BayouTexan !

I'm afraid I gave in today and added couple of master effects, it was just too easy to slap on an eq and stereo widener to get it closer to where I wanted it... gotta have a stronger will going forward. I wonder if there's a mastering anonymous group.

This is by a big margin the best mix from you so far. Really enjoyed this tune!
Cheers,

Say it isn't so! Digging the bass tone and riffing again.

It's a pleasure hearing mixes that aren't squashed to ####.

Sure, but now all the shiteness can shine through for all to see and the real journey begins, and I’m scared of leaving my comfort zone.
-
Well that one sounded very crisp and articulate in every way. Keep doing that!

yep it's cool to see some dynamics , master bus comp & fx sure lower the dynamics on most presets. I like a raw mix from time to time
