Mono CrapMac ZeroBass™ speaker halfway across the room and facing away from me(!), so tricky to tell, but if I had to guess I'd say that the Kemper "removed" some of that hard-edged attack I tend to hear from the Axe.

Clip 2. There's something about the harmonics in clip 1 that leads me to believe it's Kemper. It sounds more real if you know what I mean...

I think clip 2 unfortunately.

I say unfortunately because I actually much prefer clip 2 but think clip 1 has a “Kemper signature” to the sound.

I always feel the Axe has a slightly softer top end in comparison tests, so Kemper 1, but it is hard to tell and you wouldn't know in a mix.

both are cool and my notebook has a crap sound so i am guessing too...

Unfortunately I'm far away from proper speaker, headphone, but rather than not participating: listening from smartphone speaker it's the first one that sounded like kemper.

No matter which is which: what I'm hearing is part of low end changes, fuller, and the mids are not as "cocked", ts-boosted sounding in one tone vs the other.

Not to compare, because there are completely different machine, both outstanding.

Moreover this just 1 profile of the KPA over thousands.

Is here the Kemper profiled the exactly same AXE sound or is it a different profile of the same amp?

Clip #1 sounds more 3D to me.

clip 1 sounds more compressed to me, so I say axeIII

Dunno which is wich, but I prefer the second one, the first one has a massive buildup in the low minds which translates as compression.

Listened with headphones. Definitely meaningful differences (for me) between these tones, no question.

How was refining done ?

#1 has the normal Kemper business going. More high mids, shriller pick attack, the cocked-wah/tube screamer tone often discussed.

Definitely #2.

Both have too much cocked wah going on. #2 had less so that leads me to believe it was the Axe 3 patch, and #1 was a profile of that patch.
