Piezo Bridge, Split Humbucker, 24frets,....
I remember getting my first schecter and every one saying its a poor mans ESP...
How wrong they were they are quality builds. THAT is one of them

I was changing guitars for quite some time but since I got my Schecter Blackjack ATX I stick with that for most of my playing. And now thinking about getting the KM-7 as a Backup..
The Brigde PU on my new Schecter C1 e/a startet to feedback uncontrolleably at fairly low gain settings. "This guitar is not made for metal" was my response from the german schecter distributor. And I know he´s right. But I had my local guitar shop repair man remove the cover. He found chunks of wax but not were it should be. He cleaned the pickup and put some new wax at the right place and left the Pick Up cover in the draw. Well, what can I say: It can metal!
I found in mbritt´s custodian a nice companion for my c1 Humbucker and Bert´s Acoustic Profiles for he piezo sounds are also great.
Just did some mods to my Lefty Gibson SG ... moves selector and added Roland Synth pickup. Now I can start using it in the band
Not sure why it double added the images DUH........ Click on the lower pics to see full guitar
You're an animal, Whipster.

That's a killer mod. Takes balls to do something like that to a guitar. What if it had all gone wrong? Thankfully it hasn't, that looks like a very neat and tidy job. Whoever did it for you deserves to be commended. Did you do it yourself? Take a boy, @whippinpost91850!
Just ordered one of these:

I've never been a PRS guy, and this will be the first one I've owned. I've always hated the looks of 10-tops with analine dye combined with the stripped down aesthetic, but lately I've been digging the newer models with the pickguards and wacky pickups. When they released the Vela with 100 year-old reclaimed wood, I couldn't resist anymore. The black pickguard, F-hole, Dearmond style pickup and life-worn top wood might have me changing my tune about PRS! If only it didn't have the chicken inlays and had dots instead, I'd say it was perfect for me
Check out how it compares to my home-brew Thunder-Precision in my avatar.
And finally, I've always has a sweet spot for wacky 70's and early/mid 80's Gibsons as well:

You can see the Gibson Victory's influence on the Vela I think.
I should be getting it within the month, so I'll report back when I do. BTW, the limited run of 600 is almost gone for anyone interested in one.

Nice!!! Saw these over at the PRS forum. Can't wait to hear the tone report!
Great looking PRS, just wish it had the dot inlays.

Yeah, the inlays are the only thing I don't like about it.
Thanks, Yep did it all myself. I'm pretty fair with a router LOL. I had to gut the board mounted Gibson electronics and wire all new
But then again, I used to own a very well known and respected Guitar repair and building shop in Metro Detroit 20 years ago
I played it at rehearsal and miss the single coil, that I have on my old custom synth guitar. So after next gig I'll tear it apart and add a Strat pickup in the center, Oh well my work is never done
Any recommendations for a Strat pickup, I have SD stacked strat on my other guitar

Check out some of Wilde Bill Lawrence's offerings. Great pickups.
Thanks will do. Any other suggestions
This would be my latest guitar :

Hi mate, i changed my Martin Landau single coil in bridge position to a dimarzio super distortion humbucker in singel coil format.
The strat is a American Standard. I have an amazing fat sound after changing and it fits absolutly to the landau pu's in the middle and neck position.
It's called super distortion but it isnt a pick up for heavy metal, it has warm mids and a good output
Here is an example with Guido Bungenstocks soldano profile, the volume knob is my friend.

Thanks, yes volume control is your friend
I have a 2004 RIckebacker 4003 that is right-handed and I'm tired of a converted righty (I can't play standing)
and while in theory I like the tone, its a bear to record.
I like Fender basses and how they sound on recordings so I gave this one a whirl: 1975 Precision modded with Jazz (Lefty)
It's torn up a piece, but it plays well and sound great (the pups are 15 years old fender p and j)

That's a work of art IMHO. It took me 35 years of futzing around to realize that there isn't a better bass on the planet for me than a regular old P-Bass. I also like the 70's P's despite the conventional wisdom that it was a bad era. I've got a '77 that my wife's uncle bought new, and it just kills.
