Perhaps whenever a KPA2 arrives, the connection is an eithercon or something like this. The advantage being it takes up less space than an ethercon, but puts the stress on the chassis and not the plug itself.
Ethernet cable falling out continually - anyone have this issue?

This looks like a good argument for the Kemper Stage then, no need to connect the remote. I previously used a behringer midi board with my toaster I had, it worked flawlessly.
-
its unfortunate. I had it happen on my Axe FX2 and the MFC floor board. My MFC was repaired, out of warranty, for around 79 bucks i believe, but shipping both ways was nearly 60 dollars. Expensive repair. Thankfully fractal got the idea and revised the connection to Ethercon, and finally to XLR now.
one of the main reasons i went rack with the KPA was so that i could have a patch panel with a ethercon pass through to avoid this, id rather not go through that again. My buddy let me borrow his toaster though, and man is that portable.

A cheap PoE-device solved this Problem for me

At the KPA end, I never take mine out. I curl my lead up and store in the rack.Been using it for 5 years and never damaged it.
One alternative is to use a patch panel and have an ethernet connection on there. That way if it breaks, its a cheaper alternative..

Same here V8guitar, but I have one of these plugged in:
https://www.amazon.com/Etherne…ter&qid=1569619204&sr=8-7
and zip-tied to a 1U vented blanking plate at the back of the rack! Sacrificial! If someone snags & pulls the cable, its gonna be the connecter that fails!

I think I'm going to do this as fairly often people trip on my cable ..

+1 buying that little cable, now.

Excellent idea, thanks. I do a similar thing with my iLok, Cubase and other USB keys. I have a little 4 port USB hub with a 6 inch pig tail. I leave all the keys plugged into the hug, and let the cable on the hub take all the stresses of plugging / unplugging. I need to apply that concept to the toaster and remote as well.

For the vented blanking plate, can you post a picture of how this looks/attaches?

Will do, when I manage to get to the rehearsal room!

I ordered a 1ft extension cable, it's ok and will work for a while. But what about something like this?

And a pass thru? -
My Toaster is mounted on a shelf. I use a pass through velcroed to the board and plug the cable into it. It works great and hasn't fallen out once since I started using it on lots of gigs

The connector broke on my toaster too. I just thread it through the side of the top handle and pull it tight and it holds pretty good, rarely comes loose anymore and it's been like this for a year and many shows. Someday I'll fix it....

Anyone have the wiring diagram for the ethernet port? Is it just standard?. I might just do the British audio mod myself.

Will something like this work?
